CMC MARINE AT THE SUPERYACHT TECHNOLOGY SHOW BARCELONA 2024 AS VIP SPEAKER

CMC Marine was invited as VIP speaker to the 2024 edition of the Superyacht Technology Show, held in Barcelona from March 20 and 21. The event, which focuses exclusively on new superyacht technology, invited guest speakers from around the world and offered a programme of practical demonstrations and workshops.

Pietro Cappiello, Vice President of the company, led a panel discussion on the electrification trend in yachting.

CMC Marine, a leading supplier of electrically operated stabilization systems, returned to this year’s Superyacht Technology Show in Barcelona, the two-day event for shipbuilders, captains, owner representatives, engineers, designers and innovators in the industry, offering a packed programme of workshops and in-depth discussions led by professionals, but also opportunities for networking.

Following the company’s successful participation in the 2023 event, at which it forged important relationships with international shipyards, CMC Marine was again invited to Barcelona to make a presentation to a huge audience of guests and industry operators.

Pietro Cappiello, Vice President of the company, was one of the panellists in the talk organised during the event, analysing the electrification trend that is gaining traction in the yacht market. CMC Marine’s contribution was particularly important as the brand has been working with great success in this area for over 16 years. A forward-looking approach, combined with a constant focus on innovation and R&D, prompted CMC Marine to invest resources in full-electric technology as far back as 2008, creating the Stabilis Electra line. This solution for yachts and megayachts was the world’s first electrically operated stabilization system. CMC Marine then applied its extensive industry know-how to developing the Dualis series of thrusters, also available with an electric drive option, and the Directa series of electric steering systems.

“Electrification is becoming increasingly important in our industry too,” commented Pietro Cappiello. “At CMC Marine, we are proud pioneers in the transition to electric stabilization, a milestone we successfully reached some time ago, but we continue to work to offer state-of-the-art solutions that anticipate market needs. We are therefore grateful for the invitation to the Superyacht Technology Show, which provides a valuable opportunity to expand our network at an event that let us talk directly to our stakeholders. An emerging market trend is greater interest in hybrid yachts, testifying to the industry’s growing focus on more efficient solutions. We are excited to contribute to a constantly evolving dialogue, but also to learn about new ideas and take inspiration for the future development of our products.”

CMC Marine, which to date has installed more than 2,500 systems on yachts and superyachts built by top-tier shipbuilders around the world, also took a stand to the Superyacht Technology Show where it welcomed visitors.
