BESENZONI MATRIX P400 BECOMES “UNIQUE” AT MYS2018

During the Montecarlo show 2018, Besenzoni presents the new P400 Matrix armchair designed by Christian Grande in partnership with Marine Leather

During the Montecarlo show, which will be held between 26 and 29 September, Besenzoni will present the new P400 Matrix armchair designed by Christian Grande in partnership with Marine Leather, which will provide the exclusive customised leather working.

To better focus on the ever-expanding market for bespoke super yachts, the Bergamo-based company, which has been the market leader in accessories for boats for over 50 years, has created Unica, a special range of unique yacht accessories. The new product line will enable the Company to meet all of their customers’ requirements, from the design to the creation of customised products, and to provide valuable support for on-board assembly and ongoing after-sales service worldwide.

In addition to this key development – and as part of a project aimed at achieving high-end specialisation – Besenzoni has signed a new partnership with Marine Leather, a leading company in luxury leather furnishings. On the occasion of the Monaco Show, Marine Leather will cover an original version of the award-winning Matrix pilot seat designed by Christian Grande with their exclusive crafted leather for exteriors.

Grande’s innovative design of the Matrix P400 has led to a higher concept of what has always been considered a “simple seat”, through the use of shapes and materials that enrich its quality, but at the same time make it even more ergonomic, ensuring a perfect driving position for many hours of sailing while maintaining a correct posture.

“From the beginning – comments Christian Grande – redesigning the Matrix pilot seat was an opportunity to interpret its forms in a conceptual and unconventional way.

The idea of giving it a brand new look has guided the creative process more towards women’shaute couture than traditional nautical design; the linings, which perfectly adhere to the upholstery, have therefore given way to overlapping layers, folds and punctures evoking subtle tones of freshness, lightness and sinuosity. The use of materials, starting with leather, synonymous with elegance and exclusivity in the nautical environment, evokes the overlapping of layers and textures reminiscent of a dress. The colours range from ice grey, minimal and refined, to the blue of the water that will provide the natural context for this piece”.

The leathers used by Marine Leather are specifically the Shark and the Sealskin ES, 100% real full-grain leather that perfectly combines aesthetics with maximum practicality and easy maintenance. In particular, the chrome-tanning process does not attract dust and is highly resistant to salt and stains. The colour can be applied according to the customer’s specifications and various creative processes can be applied such as laser and pleated inserts used for this special – “Unica” – pilot seat.
